Blended Learning Course

This course covers the following: Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer-Lifeguard. This is a blended learning course, with the candidate using online learning and test-taking to accent classroom skills. Access to the internet and a printer is required for this course.

THE MINIMUM AGE FOR THIS COURSE IS 15 BY SATURDAY, March 21, 2026

Proof of age in the form of a driver’s license, birth certificate or passport must be presented at the pre-test!

Pre-Test:                               Saturday, Feb. 21, 9 am – 10 am
*Students who do not pass the pre-test will not be permitted to attend the course

Pre-Test requirements:

Skill 1.  Swim 150 yards continuously using Breast or Front Crawl then go right into treading water for 2 minutes only using your legs. After the 2 minutes are done. continue swimming another 50 yards using front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both

Skill 2.  Complete a timed event within 1 minutes, 40 seconds Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps

Course Information:         Candidates must attend ALL classes listed below and complete online work in-between classroom sessions.

  • Tue., March 10, 5:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Thur., March 12, 5:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Tue., March 17, 5:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Thur., March 19, 5:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Sat., March 21, 5:00 – 9:00 pm

Location: Mount Fitness, 444 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01430

Cost: $350 (MWCC Student Fee is $200) To register for the Course & Pre-Swim Test, a $50 deposit is required, which will be applied towards the total course fee.

Notes: There is a 10-participant maximum and a 5-participant minimum for this course. Punctual attendance is required AT ALL CLASS SESSIONS, NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE!
